- Crushers have not allowed a run in 20.2 innings including shutouts the last two nights. The team is tied for the league high with 5 shutouts this season.
- Tim Holmes pitched 7.2 scoreless innings last night for Florence. He is a Bay Village native.
- Before the game, the Crushers signed David Phillips before the game. The outfielder was starting for the University of Mississippi this spring where he played with Cleveland Indians first round pick Drew Pomeranz. Phillips hit .238 with seven home runs.
“He has some pop in his bat,” Massarelli said. “He is a left handed bat that will provide some bench strength. He has some arm strength. We will see what he brings to the table.”
